The Swamp Soccer World Championship Brought to Us From Finland

The Swamp Soccer World Championships is a yearly international soccer competition that started in Hyrynsalmi, Finland. The game takes place in the middle of a marshy bog, where the water reaches up to the players' waists. The goal of the game is the same as in ordinary soccer, but the mud and wetness make it harder and need more stamina. Teams from all over the world can compete in the tournament, which is accessible to people of all ages.
Since 2000, the Swamp Soccer World Championships have taken place every year. Finnish skiers have traditionally trained in wetlands for years to improve their stamina, which is interesting.
