Amateur Chessboxing World Championship
Chessboxing is a hybrid sport that combines the physical activity of boxing with the mental activity of chess, as its name suggests. It's a sport where two people fight each other in rounds of chess and boxing. There are six rounds of chess and five rounds of boxing in the battle. In chess, a checkmate, in boxing, a technical knockout, or a judge's decision decides who wins.
The word "chessboxing" actually came from a martial arts movie from 1979 and expanded from there. The first official chessboxing event was in London, but now it's all over the world, with the biggest events happening in Los Angeles.
