The Jungle Marathon in Brazil
In Brazil's rainforest, the Amazon Jungle Marathon is a tough ultramarathon race that lasts for many days. People say it's the hardest race on foot in the world. The track is 26 miles (42 km) long and goes through the Amazon jungle. It has hard-to-navigate terrain (swamps and hills) and a very hot and humid environment. Racers have to fight their way through the jungle, where they could run across anything from jaguars and monkeys to snakes and bugs that can kill them.
People who want to participate must bring their own food, water, and other supplies and find their own way around the course. Some of the hardest and most daring athletes in the world come to the race every year.
