Bee Bearding in China
If bees fear you, don't look now! Every year, beekeepers in China compete in a bee bearding contest to see who can cover their body with the most honeybees. The festival usually happens at Shaoyang, which is in the Hunan province of China. People say it's a method for the beekeeper to show off their ability and bravery. The one who can stand the most bees crawling all over them wins the contest.
Even though there aren't normally a lot of people in the competition, in 2011, a 42-year-old beekeeper with only a pair of goggles and shorts managed to get more than 26 kg of bees to land on him.
