The Waters Between Alaska (U. S. ) and Siberia (Russia)

Things look a little smaller from orbit than they really are. It's hardly surprising that we think Alaska is a lot closer to mainland Europe (more precisely, Siberia, Russia) than we used to think. This is just something to think about as you're driving throughout all of Alaska. You know, some things to think about.

The real border between the US and Russia is between the Diomede Islands, which are right in the middle of the picture. I don't know what to do with this knowledge, but there it is.
