From Ron Perlman To Hellboy

For the film Hellboy Ron Perlman chose Jake Garber, a talented makeup artist, to do the job. Garber had worked in art design, animatronics, and puppets, so Perlman thought he would be appropriate for this intense change. Perlman's face was completely covered in prosthetics, and the only bit that showed was his eyelids.

It took four hours to put on the prosthetics, and he also had to have his body painted red. A lot of shading was employed to make his body and face look natural.
