From Ian McKellen To Gandalf

Actor Ian McKellen had to go through a lot of hair and makeup to get the look for Lord of the Rings. The makeup artists gave him a fake nose that was bigger than his real one, and they also gave him long hair and a beard.

When the sculptors were building new noses out of silicon, McKellen asked for a smaller one. The old noses were made of gelatin, which moved about when he yelled or sneezed.
