9. Lake Karachay


Lake Karachay, which lies in central Russia, is thought to be one of the most poisonous lakes on Earth. At first glance, it may look like a gorgeous lake, but looks may be deceiving (and deadly). The Russian government dumped poisonous trash into the lake when there weren't many rules about how to do it. Lake Karachay is so poisonous that it might kill you in less than an hour. The government made the right choice by filling in the lake with concrete. This lake won't be able to intimidate the people who live nearby in a few years.
