Girl With Down Syndrome Finally Gets Adopted After 20 Rejections

The adoption system is really complicated because there are so many rules and red tape. A single gay man who wanted to adopt a child found that the system was not helping him. He didn't think twice when social services told him he could only adopt a child who was sick, disabled, or had behavioral problems. He knew he could manage the job because he had worked with impaired people for years.
The man ended up adopting a lovely girl who has Down syndrome. "I was so happy when I first held her; I felt like she was my daughter right away," he added.
