One Man Saved Millions With His Blood

James Harrison, a man in his early teens, needed surgery very badly. He was able to make it through after using more than a dozen liters of blood. He then promised to always give blood, and when he did, it turned out that he had a rare antigen that cured Rhesus illness. He went on to give blood more than 1,000 times, which saved 2.4 million lives.
This is probably the most remarkable story about how one unselfish gesture can help millions. His humble blood donations spared millions of newborns from dying from this illness.
