A Succulent Slice of Cake, Please

Sorry to say, this isn't real if you see a wooden box with a healthy succulent on top of it in this picture. It's real in the same way that cake is real, but it's more real than anything else. This "box" and even the "plant" are fashioned of cake and are ready to be cut for a very special event.
We know this cake tastes great, but it looks too good to consume. And the more we look at it, the less we understand how this baker was able to make the lid of the "box" look so good.
